Questions and answers

How would you describe your style?

My look is modern, classic and understated. I like tonal layering and wear simple, graphic accessories. I'm not a trend follower and prefer to buy investment pieces that will be in my wardrobe for a long time. I'm not a believer in 'saving it for best' and like to mix considered luxe fabrics with casual day wear.

What is the one wardrobe staple you can’t do without?

I would be lying if I said anything other than a pair of black skinny trousers! They are my fail-safe item, I have so many pairs in various fabrics (and shades of black!). It's a number far too high to admit to, but as I'm not a lover of jeans they are a great everyday alternative.

What is the one item at the back of your wardrobe you can’t bear to be without?

My first designer bag, a light tan oversized bucket bag by Marni. The colour was not practical for my age and I completely trashed it. It has been repaired so many times over the years - I wouldn't dare use it now as it would probably fall apart, but there is no way I could part with it!

What's your idea of fashion hell?

Pink velour!
